K Shanmugam is a very famous Singaporean politician and lawyer as well. His full name is Kasiviswanathan Shanmugam but mostly famous with the name of K. Shanmugam. He is a member of the governing People Action Party (PAP) and has been Minister of Law since May 2008. Currently, he is the Minister for Home Affairs since 2015 and assumed office on 1 October 2015.
He was born on 26 March 1959 in Singapore where K. Shanmugam was educated in Raffles Institution from 1972 to 1977. After that he going to the National University of Singapore to study law, there he graduated at the top of his class with a First Class Honour Degree in the year 1984. After that K. Shanmugam admitted to the Singapore Bar as an advocate and solicitor in 1985. K. Shanmugam has a successful practice and recognized in various international publications. His political career was started in 1988 when he was elected as a member for the Group Representation Constituency (GPC) and after that, his political career became more successful and K. Shanmugam got ministry in various fields. Basically, he is Tamil Indian and has been married to Dr. Seetha Shanmugam since 2008. He has a huge fan following in the entire Singapore and in India also.
