Ivan Heng is very popular and talented Singaporean actor and theater director of Peranakan and Hokkien descent. He is also the founding member of the very popular theater company in Singapore named as Wild Rice. He is the first ever Singaporean actor to play the leading English roles in Hollywood movies, his one of the popular role was in film Luc Besson’s The Fifth Element.
He was born on 20 September 1963 in Singapore. Heng was studied at very popular Anglo-Chinese School, Temasek Junior College and the National University of Singapore. He completed his law studies from this university between 1984 and 1988. He is very educated and qualified lawyer and in acting he won many awards also for his theater acting such as in Edinburgh, Canada, and Hollywood also. In 2013 he was awarded the highest arts honor of Singapore named as Cultural Medallion. In her earlier year, he joined Singapore Theatre American Repertory Showcase where he acted in many dramas. In 200 he founded his own theater company named as WILD RICE and got many major projects for his company like The Visit of Tai Tai, Cinderella-Ah, and The Women in a tree on the Hill and much more. In 2014 Heng married to his partner Tony Trickett in London. Some of his popular films and play names are such as Sex Violence Family Values, Rogue Trader, The Fifth Element, Public Enemy, The Important of Being Earnest, Emily of Emerald Hill, Jack and the Beansprout, For the pleasure of Seeing you again and much more.
