Lui Tuck Yew is very popular former Singaporean politician who was retired from the politics in 2015. He served as Minister for Transport and Second Minister for Defence of Singapore. Previously he served as the Minister of Information, Communication and Arts from 2010 to 2011. Recently, Lui Tuck Yew was appointed as the Singapore ambassador to Japan.
He was born on 16 August 1961 in Singapore and completed his primary education at Anglo-Chinese Primary School and Anglo-Chinese Junior College. Lui Tuck Yew completed his post graduation in Master of Arts in international relations at The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University. Lui Tuck Yew began his career in the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) and became Chief of Navy in the year 1999. Lui was elected as the member of the Parliament in 2006 for People’s Action Party. After serving the nation for a long period in politics, he finally decided to get retired and officially its retirement is announced on 11 August 2015. Lui Tuck Yew married See Fen and have two children.
