Tan Chuan-Jin is a leading and well-known Singaporean politician who is currently serving as the Minister of Social and Family Development in Singapore and working in the office since 4 May 2015. Tan Chuan-Jin is also the MP in Singapore Parliament for Marine Parade GRC since 7 May 2011. Tan Chuan-Jin is the official member of the People’s Action Party (PAP).
He was born on 10 January 1969 in Singapore where he was educated at Anglo-Chinese School and Raffles Junior College. Tan Chuan-Jin also completed a BSc degree at the London School of Economics and a Master of Arts degree in Defence studies at King’s College London. In 2008, Tan Chuan-Jin completed a Master of Public Management degree at National University of Singapore. Before entering into politics Tan Chuan-Jin joined the Singapore Armed Forces and left the SAF in order to stand for Parliament. In 2011 Tan Chuan-Jin stood as a candidate for PAP for Marine Parade GRC. On 4 May 2015, Tan Chuan-Jin got the ministry of manpower and became Minister for Social and Family Development as a part of the cabinet reshuffle. Tan Chuan-Jin is married and has two children also. Tan Chuan-Jin loved to reading books, watching movies and football.
